Kristi S. Francis, CPA
Kristi Francis graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and began her career with Ernst & Young before starting her own firm in 1987. As owner of Francis & Associates, she specializes in business advisory and tax services for closely-held businesses and their owners.
Kristi has taken active leadership roles on boards of various community organizations, including the Altrusa Foundation of Downtown Dallas, Hope Cottage, and Entrepreneurial Women Presidents. In addition, she is a member of Women Presidents Organization, Texas Women Ventures, and the Fitzwilliam Literary Society. She has been a guest lecturer for the Community Board Institute’s annual education conference, and she acts as a mentor for the Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School.
Kristi enjoys travel, SMU basketball, entertaining at home, listening to good music, and playing the piano, and she is always searching for the next great book.
Lisa O’Bryant, CPA
Lisa O’Bryant graduated Cum Laude from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree. She began her career at Ernst & Young serving as a senior accountant in the Dallas tax department. Lisa has also worked for a regional accounting firm during her career as well as a local company with real estate and car rental investments before joining Francis & Associates in December of 1996. Lisa oversees our tax practice and runs the day-to-day operations.
In her spare time, Lisa loves to read, enjoys going to concerts, and listening to live music, enjoys the outdoors, and has taken up running to stay in shape. She also enjoys spending time with her two grown daughters who have followed her footsteps into the public accounting world and are working for Ernst & Young.
Karen Jostes, CPA
Karen Jostes graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Science degrees. While at Texas A&M, she was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, and was involved with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. She worked for regional and local accounting firms, as well as in the tax department of a major retail corporation located in the Dallas area, before joining Francis & Associates in February of 2008.
Outside of work, Karen travels as much as possible, especially to tropical locations where she can scuba dive to her heart’s content. When she’s not in the ocean, she enjoys attending sporting events, concerts, and spending time with friends.
Jennifer Aberger, CPA
Jennifer Aberger graduated Summa Cum Laude and valedictorian from Texas Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Summa Cum Laude from University of North Texas with a Master of Science in Taxation. She began her career in the tax department at Ernst & Young in Dallas and eventually was a senior manager in the National Entrepreneurial Services office specializing in venture capital, high growth companies and their owners. Jennifer also worked on the EY National Entrepreneur of the Year program and conference. After 9 years with EY, Jennifer took some time to spend with her family. She joined Francis and Associates in 2016 and loves the opportunity to work with the wide range of clients.
Out of the office, Jennifer spends her time cheering on her daughter, an All-American college gymnast, and visiting her son at Notre Dame. Jennifer has served as sorority advisor for Gamma Phi Beta, member of Plano/Richardson Panhellenic, and volunteer at Seven Loaves Food Pantry and Prince of Peace Catholic. She and her husband love going to the beach and visiting family.
Tammy Zimmerman, CPA
Tammy Zimmerman graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She began her career at Ernst & Young in Austin and later worked for a regional accounting firm, as a Director of Finance for a municipality, and as a professor of accounting at a community college, all in Springfield, Missouri. Prior to moving back to Texas and joining Francis & Associates in 2014, she worked for ten years at a local tax firm in St. Louis, Missouri.
Tammy stays busy outside of work with visiting her son and daughter in college, attending UT, and now A&M, football games. She enjoys attending concerts, traveling and staying active with barre classes and mountain biking.
Lisa Britt, CPA
Lisa Britt graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 1985. She began her career at small real estate companies in Phoenix, Arizona, before moving to Dallas, where she worked at Trammell Crow Interests. Lisa originally joined Francis & Associates in 1996 as a part-time accountant. After a five-year foray into entrepreneurship, when she owned a dance studio, Lisa returned full-time to Francis & Associates in 2012.
In the early 90s, Lisa took some time off to be a full-time mom to her daughter, Morgan. During that time she was actively involved in community and church activities. Lisa wore many hats: church treasurer, women’s Bible study administrator, women’s Christmas dinner coordinator, as well as PTO treasurer & president at her daughter’s elementary school. Business aside, Lisa’s favorite way to relax is by spending time with her daughter, preferably on a beach, and she loves going to classic rock concerts with her friends.
Sandy Kleweis graduated from University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She joined Francis & Associates in September 2007. Sandy handles all of the administrative and office management aspects of our practice. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, as well as landscaping and decorating in her spare time.
